Anson City Hall

This beautiful structure is the Anson City Hall and it sits right in the middle of the Main Street.  Anson was once called Jones City but in 1882 the name was changed to Anson in honor of Anson Jones who was the last president of the Republic of Texas.

What an impressive old building. Recently our town needed a bigger city hall but of course what was built looks very modern. I much prefer the look of buildings such as this gem.

I agree with you completely. So many of the small towns around here have these beautiful old buildings as their town halls.

Impressive, our courthouse used to have those same concrete planters it must have been a "thing"

I think you're right about the planters. They're seen at most of the city hall buildings.
