Jumbo Jenga

Several months ago I posted another image of this jumbo benga that's located in a play area in downtown Abilene, TX.  The location used to be a restaurant with an outdoor eating area that now has several games for people to interact with.
This time I passed this place, it was all in shade which made for a better image.

Clock Tower

This beautiful clock tower is located on the campus of Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
It has an arch under it that allows students to walk the path from the sidewalk onto the campus between two buildings.  The tower is red brick with a golden dome.

Grant Teaff Statue

For the first time ever, I was on the inside of the campus of McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.  I saw this beautiful sculpture of Grant Teaff, former head football coach from 1960-1965.  I only had my cell phone with me but I think the image came out okay anyway.

Shakelford County Courthouse

This beautiful structure is located in Albany, Texas and sits right along the Main Street of the town.  The trees are bare and the grass is brown since it's a winter photo of the courthouse.  The two stone tables to the right of the foreground of the image contain the 10 Commandments.

Weatherford, Texas City Hall

Many small towns in Texas have a central building smack in the middle of Main Street that is their City Hall.
This is the one in Weatherford.  It's an incredibly beautiful structure.
We were there late in the afternoon. There was a lot of traffic so it wasn't possible to stand in the middle of the street and get the image I wanted.
I like this image and contrary to many other tower clocks I've seen, this one had the correct time.

Leaning Tower

I saw this tower while I was walking around some side streets in Cisco, Texas.  I have no idea what it was originally.

I'm grateful for:
cooler temperatures

Shakelford County Courthouse

This is the courthouse in the town square in Albany, TX, with a gazebo off to the side.  The building is sooooo beautiful.  It was built in 1883, by mostly Scottish stone masons.  They used native limestone which they brought to town from a nearby quarry.

My heart is grateful for:
my new pothos plant that is decorating my living room

Underside of a Water Tower

This underside of a water tower isn't a very exciting image, but I saw it while I was driving around looking for some photo ops.  This beautiful day comes at the end of 3.5 really horrible/cold/icy days during which I was captive in my house because of the icy roads.

It was awesome being able to be outside again and it was warm enough that I didn't need a jacket.

Today my thankful heart is thankful for:
getting ready to meet some friends for dinner
