Before the rodeo began at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo they had a new concept.  

A laser show.

The Old Cabinet

We have this thing going on at our church.  Anyone who wants to can get on a list to have breakfast/lunch/dinner with 7-8 other people. (every 4 months it changes people so you can meet others) It's a great way to get to know others in the church and to make new friends, or just get out and have a diversion in your life.

Today was the day for our group to meet so we decided to go to Chili's on the north side of town for lunch.  

After we ate I drove around a little to see if there were any photos I could find since I don't usually go to that side of town very much.  There was an old building, painted on the outside with a nautical theme, that I thought was interesting and then I saw this empty cabinet.

Painted Building

One of the alleyways in downtown Abilene is painted in these beautiful colors and designs.  It's a pleasure to see them instead of just the plain bricks of the building.

Yellow pylons

I was walking through one of the downtown parking lots the other day and saw this pylons.  I've seen them before, but never took a photo of them, so I did this time.  They make a barrier in front of the public bathrooms that are in the parking lot.

Old Train Station

This is the front of the old train station in Cisco, TX.  It's been abandoned for as long as I've been here and for many years before that probably.  

It's a long building that has overhead doors to load large items into the train.

Painted Wall Mural

In the town of Mineral Wells, TX, there's this musical mural painted on one of the abandoned buildings that can be seen from the Main Street of the town.

In a small town in Texas there's this mural of long-horn cattle.

Abandoned Warehouse

This corner of the building is just a piece of a long/large warehouse on the south side of Abilene, TX where there are other warehouses and other abandoned buildings. There's copy space on the white bricks and on the steps, while green vines grow cup the supports of the structure.

Winnie the Pooh

This is a painting on an unused store front in Abilene, TX.  It's just a small piece of a larger mural that adorns the glass plate window.  

Winnie the Pooh makes me smile all the time.

Chain and Lock

This chain and lock is on some heavy particle board that covers the glass windows that used to be part of a bakery in downtown Abilene, TX.  Right now the building seems abandoned, but it's apparently taken care of by being covered over with the wooden boards.

Boarded Windows

Walking around Cisco, TX, I saw the building down a side street.  It was abandoned and it had these boards on the windows and doors that I thought were interesting.

In another alley in downtown there's a staircase that has these small glazed windows along the wall.  I noticed the broken pane which I had not seen before.  Wonder how it got broken???

Mushroom Graffiti

In a different location than the eye graffiti, there's this mushroom graffiti.  The artwork I gorgeous, I couldn't resist taking a photo of it.

Eye Graffiti

In one of the alleys in downtown Abilene there's a blank yellow wooden wall and today I noticed that there's two beautiful graffiti designs on it.  Both are signed, but I can't read the writing.

Cups for Sale

I saw these cups in a supermarket area today and thought they were so, so, so pretty.  I might have bought some, but I have some mugs already, I never have company and I'm in the process of clearing my house out of anything I don't use regularly.  So, after showing them to my friends, I quickly put them back on the shelf.

This is another abandoned structure that still has these beautiful corner windows.  No clue as to what it was when it was a business.

Colorful Duplos

I went to the library with the grandkids again today and saw these duplos on a table and thought they looked so great.  

My kiddos had tons of these to play with and they loved them.
