Tall, skinny bookcase

My parents had this bookcase in their place before they both passed.  I always loved it so, in spite of the sadness of them being gone, I was happy to get it.

I have way to many books right now because I belong to a bookgroup that meets once a month and many of the books were obtained through used book sites and they only cost a few dollars.  I don't purchase every book we read, just the ones I think I'll want to keep.  Sadly, I keep too many of them, but I love to read and I often read a favorite book several times.
I need to STOP buying books.  There is, after all, a library in town.  We'll see how that goes.

Santa Statue

On one of the corners in downtown Abilene there's a small park and right now there's a statue of Santa with his sleigh.
I'm not sure if Santa will be in the sleigh for photos during the holiday season, or if the sleigh is for people to take their own photos. Whatever, it's a great holiday decoration in downtown.

Photo Shoot
9/365

It was supposed to be sunny and beautiful that day.  Even the weather announcer on the radio seemed a little surprised that the clouds weren't cooperating by going away.  I was relieved though.

Clouds mean the lighting is even (sometimes a little too even to be a little flat). They mean there's no need to squint. They mean slightly cooler temps.  They mean the photos can be taken in any direction.  So even though the lighting is not as creative as when the sun is shining, it makes the session a little more pleasant.

It turned out pretty well and everyone seems happy with the results.
