Another Abandoned Home

I was driving down a road I've never been on before and came across this abandoned home.  There are so many of them in this area.  The roof is completely caved in but I couldn't get any closer because of the fence around the property.
I wonder who pays the taxes, or if there are any taxes that have to be paid.
This looks like it might have been a nice home once upon a time.

Abandoned Church or Hotel

This abandoned blue building is located at the end of a road in Gordon, TX. The town is basically an intersection but there are a lot of homes in the area. Some of the homes are old and abandoned and some are newer and up-to-date.  The population in 2020 was 451.
There was no written documentation about what this structure might have been once upon a time, but the marquee in the front gives it the feeling it might have been a church or a meeting place of some sort.  It also reminds me of a small apartment building.

Dawn Outside of Fairbanks

I managed to capture this image this morning just as the sun was about to rise above the horizon.  Beautiful colors.

Shakelford County Courthouse 2

This beautiful building is the Shakelford County Courthouse located in Albany, Texas.  The photo was taken on a winter day, so the grass is brown and the trees are bare although there's a beautiful blue sky in the background.
When the trees are in bloom it's much harder to see the structure.  There's a pretty gazebo in the yard at the corner of the courthouse building and off to the right side of the building near the sidewalk there are two stone tablets with the 10 Commandments on them.

Snow on Dirty White Fence

The fence might be dirty white, but I think the scene is pretty.

It's Monday
29/365

Some friends and I have started another blog on Wordpress (expressyourselfwithphotos.wordpress.com)
At the moment there are three of us participating and we each have one day a week when we're supposed to post at least one photo.  Monday is my day, and for the first time since we began, I remembered and actually posted.

I despaired this morning of finding an image, but as I sat in my living room and looked at the windows with the sun shining for the first time in many days, I noticed the shadows and knew I had discovered my image of the day.

The I started playing around with another object and came up with this next image.

It was such a beautiful day outside I finally decided to take a drive and see what I could see.  I didn't expect much since I took the exact same route I've taken so many times before when I've come home with nothing.

But today was a little different.  All the leaves on these particular trees are gone and the sun was low in the sky so the light was beautiful.  There's just something about the bare trees in the Fall...
