Beautiful Home

This beautiful structure is on the corner of a street in Northville, NY.  There are some really gorgeous homes in that little rural town.

Farm near the lake

This farm is near the shore of the Great Sacandaga Lake in upstate NY.  Below it, nearer the water line, is a beautiful house~~maybe where the farm owners live.
This is such a serene image!!

Another Abandoned Home

I was driving down a road I've never been on before and came across this abandoned home.  There are so many of them in this area.  The roof is completely caved in but I couldn't get any closer because of the fence around the property.
I wonder who pays the taxes, or if there are any taxes that have to be paid.
This looks like it might have been a nice home once upon a time.

Old Homestead

Another abandoned home.  This must have been a beautiful
home in its day.
Look at the chimney~~still in good shape, at least from the outside.

Someone's Forever Home

This must have been a beautiful home at one time.
Wonder why these houses go to wrack and ruin?

A House and Winter Grass

This is day 365 of 365.  It's the first time I've ever finished a photo-a-day for an entire year.  Other years I've almost done it, but I never managed to complete the year.
A friend and I took a drive this afternoon to a town I've never been to before.
It's name is Desdemona~~sounds like a girl's name, right?, but that's actually the name of the town.
We came across this abandoned house.  There are so many (abandoned houses).  I couldn't get any closer since there was a fence around the property.
So tomorrow begins a new year.  Wonder if I'll be able to post a photo-a-day for the year?
Happy New Year to y'all.

Grey Home

This is a second home on a piece of property in Putnam, Texas.  It looks pretty shabby right now, but I wonder if it was someone's forever home once upon a time.  The windows were boarded up on the inside so there was no looking in to see what it was like.
So sad to see these structures go to wrack and ruin.

Abandoned Mobil Home

This mobil home is located in a locked-fenced yard that's overgrown and appears to have been abandoned for a long time.  It looks like it might have been a nice home structure once upon a time, but it certainly isn't right now.

Habitat for Humanity

While driving around I saw this house being renovated for Habitat for Humanity.  I knew the organization was in Abilene, but I never knew where any of the structures were located.
I was able to go inside and see the layout.  It looked like there would be 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in addition to kitchen, laundry room, living room and other space.  There was also a nice big back yard.

Abandoned Country Road House

My friend and I were taking a drive to Coleman, Texas and we saw this abandoned house on a back road.  There was a fence with a locked gate, so, sadly, we couldn't get any closer to it.

House for Sale

I had the opportunity to photograph another house that's going on the sale market pretty soon.  It was late in the day and the light was beautiful.  The house is cute.  It's just two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room.  It needs some work but it would be a great starter house for a new couple or an ending home for an older couple.
The neighborhood in the small town is a little iffy, but with a little work the curb appeal could be improved.

House for Sale

I occasionally work with a realtor to photograph houses they want to sell.  The other day I had the pleasure of capturing this sweet little house in pics.
It's just too adorable.  I wish I could buy it, but there's one legal item keeping me from getting
a mortgage.  I can't get the house out of my mind, but I guess I'll have to wait on the Lord to make it possible if buying a house is His will for me.

Abandoned Home in Abilene

These abandoned structures make my heart so sad. I always wish I could get into these places, but they're always locked tight.

This Remodel is Taking a Loooooong Time

The house in the lot next to the church I photographed in the previous post seems to be under some construction.   I noticed this skeleton resting on the bench on the porch.
I couldn't resist getting a shot.

I pulled into a parking area in Coleman, TX in order to check
directions and I saw this sign.
It cracks me up.
I had to get an image of it.

Abandoned Country House

As we were driving down the road I noticed this house in a field, so we detoured a little and were able to get pretty close to it.  It was totally deserted, but there was a DISH on one side of the house and some air conditioners in the windows.  I looked in one of the windows and saw a bed mattress, shelves on the wall with knick-knacks, some clothing.  The people who lived here must have just decided one day to walk away.  There were also some sheds nearby with all manner of "things" still there.

It's a curiosity why these places are abandoned like they are.
