Three Models

When I first moved to Texas, I somehow got connected with a group of photographers who organized a photo shoot with some models.  It was really fun and the girls were totally into the session.
It was great watching the other photographers work and then getting a chance to do some images of my own.
There's never been another session like that one and I've never seen the girls since then.

Opening Ceremony at the Rodeo

These 6 White Horses, sponsored by one of the local Universities in Abilene, perform the opening ceremony at the West Texas Fair and  Rodeo each year, in addition to other performances they do throughout the year at other events.

Graham-Cracker-House building underway

This is just a small group of the teens who were at the house-building event last night.  They were so creative.

My heart is grateful that:
I found a few books at an estate sale today that I'll totally enjoy:
Anne Tyler and John Grisham

Six White Horses

Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX has a club (if that's what it's called) whose members care for and ride six white horses in parades, rodeos and other community activities both local and in towns around Abilene.  From the little I've heard about this group, there are about 20 horses that are rotated for the different rides and the group of girls in the club also rotate as the riders.

They are iconic for the local parades.
This parade is the kick-off event for the West Texas Fair and Rodeo that began this week.

I'm grateful for:
God's beautiful creatures

Mini Models

I'm amazed I got a shot even this good considering how we were rushing to get done before the skies opened up with the threatening rain and it was just a cell phone image.  I'd love to go back and try it again with my grown-up camera and a little more time.

Feeling grateful for:
the fun we had on our little walk after our dinner
