Front Wall

This is the front wall of a business that no longer exists at this site in Ranger, Texas.  It sits on a corner of the block.  It doesn't look like there was a fire, but there is no text or any markers indicating what type of business it used to be.

Plant Decor

Along one of the streets in downtown Abilene, there's a business that has two of these decorative plants flanking their front door.  I know there's a name for this type of plant, I just can'd think of it right now, but they sure are pretty and they add a welcoming touch to the business.

Downtown Building

I thought this was an interesting perspective on this building in downtown Abilene.
Years ago I was in Europe and a lot of the older buildings had many of their windows boarded up.
The tour guide told us it was because, once upon a time, there was a tax on the number of windows a building had, so the owners boarded the windows to lower their tax bills.
I don't think that's the reason theses lower windows are boarded, but it's an interesting idea.

Random Blue on Blue

I was waiting for a friend at my favorite coffee shop.  The weather was gorgeous today, so I was sitting at a seat outside.  While waiting I decided to make a photo of the chair I was sitting in.  It's this random blue design that works as a great background for text or other images.
Who knew a chair could be so creative.
It's pretty amazing what kind of images I can find when I'm desperate.

Christmas Tree Topper

While I was waiting for my coffee in my favorite coffee shop, I noticed this tree topper.  I only had my cell phone with me, but I think the image came out pretty nice

Spiral Staircase

This spiral staircase is located inside a secure fence at an event center in downtown Abilene, Texas.  I LOVE spiral staircases and even though I've passed this location many times, I never thought of taking a photo of it until the other day.

I'm dealing with an issue in my life right now for which I need to be very patient while trusting the Lord.  I know He has a plan...I can't wait to see what it is.

Decorative Handrail

As I was driving down a country road, I came upon a small church that I decided to photograph.  When I walked closer to it I noticed this beautiful decorative handrail at the steps.  It was also creating columns from the steps to the small overhang for the porch.

I'm grateful today for:
the much cooler temps

Ceramic Planter

It's hot outside.  I spent the afternoon trying to figure out where to go to take a photo to post and I kept remembering that it's 102F outside so I decided to try a still-life.  I love this little planter and I think the purple flowers are so sweet, even though I don't know what they are.

If you like this image, go on over to Linda-buckman.pixels.com and check out all the products they offer with my images on them.  It's a great site to find a gift for that hard-to-buy-for person in your life.  Or you could just look at the images there and enjoy the "look".

My heart is grateful today for:
the estate sale at which I recently made an incredible purchase

My Quilt

I started this quilt about 22 years ago.  I think it was A Block A Month sold by JoAnn Fabric.  I remember putting all the blocks together and then they just sat in my sewing stash for years.  One day I got motivated and put the blocks together to create the quilt top and then that sat in my stash for years.

I finality decided it wasn't doing anyone any good in a drawer, so I bit the bullet,  paid to have it quilted and voila.  Now I just need to put the ribbing around the edges and I can leave it on my bed.
Procrastination is a dreadful thing.

I'm happy today for:
my sewing machine that has provided hours upon hours of creative joy
