While walking around waiting for my grandkids class to begin, I saw this pretty arrangement of Fall Decor on some house steps.

Ravens on the Wall

This building, in Fairbanks, Alaska, is decorated with ravens resting n pipes along the outside wall of the structure.  It was winter so there are snow clumps on the pipes.

Many of the structures in Fairbanks are decorated.

Painted Wall Mural

In the town of Mineral Wells, TX, there's this musical mural painted on one of the abandoned buildings that can be seen from the Main Street of the town.

Announcements

There's an art center in downtown Abilene and on one of the outside walls there are these announcements about coming events.  The photo club I attend once a month meets at this venue, and it's right across from my fav coffee shop, so I see the banners regularly.  

The art center has rotating displays of artist's work inside throughout the year and it's always fun to see what's on display when I attend my meetings.

Colored Circles

I went into a building I've never been in before in Abilene.  I needed to go to the IRS office.  While waiting for it to open after their lunch break I wandered around and saw this circle sculpture.

I managed to capture this image this morning just as the sun was about to rise above the horizon.  Beautiful colors.

Downtown Painting

Downtown Abilene has just finished refurbishing the streets and sidewalks of one of its main streets.

My favorite coffee shop has also recently remodeled a little inside.  One of the additions they've added is this beautiful painting of their shop and the street on which it lives. 

What a great addition to the decor of the shop.

Wings on a Wall

While walking through downtown the other day, I wandered through an alleyway and came across this artwork.  The wings are a little high up so I'm not sure if they're intended for people to pose in front of them, or if they're just art for art's sake.

Metal Tree against Business Wall

In Coleman, Texas there's a business with a long outside wall and this metal tree is set against the wall as decor.  It's really unique.  I couldn't help taking a photo of  it.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. SO MUCH to be thankful for!! but this is going to be one of the most quiet holidays for me that I've had in a long time.  My daughter's family went to their friend's house today for a meal and on Thursday they're doing nothing.  She's not cooking. She has a baby that's only a few months old plus 4 others under 7.5 years, so I know she needs the day to just chill and enjoy being with her husband.  

I'll have to figure out what to do with myself even though I'm actually looking forward to spending the day alone.

Orange Sculpture

This orange sculpture of squares is located outside the art building at Hardin-Simons University in Abilene, Texas.  The middle box is the same orange as the rest, but the way the sun was shining washed it out to a lighter shade.

It's pretty interesting I guess, but it's not what I would have used as an indicator or

the art building.

Photo of Paint Cans

I got my hair trimmed today in a small town about 20 minutes from where I live and then I drove around hoping to find something to photograph.  

I drove down a side road I haven't been on before and there was a Hardware Store with this photo on the outside.  I thought it was pretty cool. What a way to advertise a business.

Road Construction

The city council in Abilene decided it was more important to revamp the Main Street than to maintain the roadways throughout town.  Hopefully this will be done soon.

Orange VW on blocks

I was walking down an alleyway today and I passed this backyard with this orange VW on blocks.  The yard itself was immaculate, and even the car on blocks was totally clean.

Wonder when they'll get around to refurbishing the car?

I was in Bangs, TX today and came across this graffiti on the wall outside a feed store.

I thought it was so beautiful I had to get an image of it.

Golf Ball Graffiti

A friend of mine lives fairly close to one of the golf clubs in town.  One of the routes to get to her place is to drive by the club house of the golf course.  On my way home tonight, I saw this artwork on the side of the building and decided to make an image of it.  

It was a really busy day for me.  I left the house at 9 am and didn't return until 8 pm.

Cleaned an airbnb for several hours this morning and then helped another friend relocate their

travel trailer, but first we had to dig it out of the mud when it got stuck.

I'm thinking I might be getting too old to be doing this kind of physical effort, but the truth is, even though it was hard work and I can barely keep my eyes open as I write this blog post I am so, so, so grateful to God for the strength and energy he has supplied me with.

I can do this work and then be tired.  Praise God.

Taylor Electric Pens

One of the electric companies in this area is Taylor Electric.  They had their yearly customer appreciation event today and one of my photographer friends had the contract to photograph the event.  He called me to help him.

These pens were on one of the tables where the cars were driving through to get their gifts from the company.  I don't know if they write in different color ink, but I thought they looked cool lying on the table like this.

I was walking around downtown Abilene this afternoon waiting for my meeting to begin.  There's an alleyway that's been recently painted with beautifully colored graphic designs.

Kids Running Logo

I was walking around downtown Abilene yesterday in an area I don't usually walk in and I came across this sign for a Day Care Center. It's such a happy looking sign and I was able to photograph it without the words which were on the bottom of the sign.

It's been a very quiet day.  I went to church this morning, then home.  I read a little and am now watching TV as I write this blog.  It's 49 degrees right now (I should be outside doing something more constructive than just sitting in front of the TV-sigh) and it will be 72 by Sat. I'll have to figure out something interesting to do outside by the end of the week.
