White Chalk on Black Door

While walking around downtown this morning I noticed this black door with a white chalk design and thought it was interesting.  The building is yellow brick.

Downtown Apartment

While walking around downtown today I passed this building that's been made into apartments with balconies.  I loved the way the chairs are sitting there with the red door.
I decided to grab a shot of it.
Someday I'd love to get into one of the apartments to see how they're laid out.

242/365
Random Book

While walking around downtown today I saw this book just sitting in this spot.  The building isn't a library, so I think someone just wanted to get rid of the book and didn't know what else to do with it.
I thought about taking it, but I have a lot of other books to read.
I'll have to check this one out to see if it might be a good one for my bookgroup.

241/365
ATT Building

There's a building in downtown Abilene that has this ATT sign on it.  I've never been in the building so I don't really know if it's an actual ATT building but I finally decided to make an image of it today.

240/365

This clock tower is located on one of the college campuses in Abilene, Texas.  The sky is blue, and the bricks are a variation ion red and tan.  This tower is one of the main sights to see on the campus.

Ravens on the Wall

This building, in Fairbanks, Alaska, is decorated with ravens resting n pipes along the outside wall of the structure.  It was winter so there are snow clumps on the pipes.
Many of the structures in Fairbanks are decorated.

238/365
Old Homestead

This old, abandoned home is on the outskirts of Colorado City, Texas  There are two TV dishes in the yard.  The structure is pretty much destroyed.

prominently displayed.

236/365
Old Train Station

This is the front of the old train station in Cisco, TX.  It's been abandoned for as long as I've been here and for many years before that probably.
It's a long building that has overhead doors to load large items into the train.

Inside the coffee shop in Eastland, Texas, there are plants and other pieces of decor for the enjoyment of the customers.  I just love the was this plant looks against the red brick wall inside the shop.

Photos on Bathroom wall

The coffee shop in Eastland has some really awesome wall decor.  These photos are clustered on one of the walls in the ladies bathroom.
I love the different frames and it's always fun to look at retro photos.

231/365
Coffee Shop Lounge

Took a drive to Eastland, TX where there's an adorable coffee shop that we've been to before.
To the left of the image, out of sight, are a couple of tables which is where we were sitting enjoying the coffee drinks we ordered.
Out the back door there's a pool and some sitting areas and above the coffee shop is a motel/hotel for guests.  The structure is down a side street and is a very pleasant area of the town.

230/365
Motorcycles

Across the small road from the abandoned high school in Olden, Texas, there were these 5 motorcycles parked along the road.  They were in various stages of repair.  Maybe they were there for sale.

229/365
Abandoned Olden School

In the town of Olden, Texas, there's an abandoned school building that used to be the senior high school.  Some of the window panes are missing and the doors are locked so no one can enter, sadly.

228/365
Abandoned Olden School

This abandoned school building was the high school in Olden, Texas.  Many of the windows are missing, not because they've been broken, but because the glue holding the glass in has deteriorated and the panes have fallen out.
There was no way to enter the building which was disappointing.

227/365
Stuffed Moose

My friend and I traveled to a very small town called Olden.  There was an abandoned school building there and in one of the lower level windows this little stuffed moose was staring out at us.

Inside the building where there are offices and work places upstairs, there's this framed photo of paper flowers hanging in the hallway.
It's a great piece of decoration.

Hi Rise in Abilene, Texas

I've taken photos of this building before, but not from this perspective.
This used to be a motel, but now it's an apartment building.

222/365
Jesus with Lamb

Every month, on the Sat closest to the 15th of the month, my church serves a free dinner in the parking lot of a church in downtown Abilene.  There's a huge parking lot on the back side the structure, and in one of the grassy areas there's a statue of Jesus holding a staff with a lamb on His shoulder.
For some reason this was the first time I really noticed the statue in the back yard of the Methodist church. The bird on Jesus' head just didn't seem to be bothered by my attention.
I had to snap a photo of it.
I love statues and this one is so comforting.
We serve a lot of meals to homeless folks.  It's such a great ministry.

Painted artwork

While waiting for our pizza to get ready in Baird, we were walking around town.  There was one wall where there was a huge mural painted on it.  I only had my point-and-shoot Canon, so I couldn't get the entire wall.  I managed to get this smaller piece of a cowgirl sitting on a barrel.

License Plates

One of the restaurants in Abilene has a wall of license plates as you first walk in the door.
It's really interesting.  As I was making this image, I noticed that all the plates are right-side-up or sideways except for one.
California is the only plate that's upside down.  Yah for this business!!!!

Park Fountain

San Angelo has a beautiful park at one end of the town and there are a couple of fountains in it.  I didn't have my tripod with me, so I couldn't slow down the speed much more than this, but I still like the way it came out.  It was hot that day, but at least most of the paths through the park were in shade.

211/365
"SALE" sign.

I saw this SALE sign in front of a store in Albany the other day.  I thought it was so cute~~handmade and all.  I love that the letters are f different designs.  I didn't go in.  I don't need one more thing for my house for me at this point in time.

210/365
Office Building in Albany, TX

I've posted pics of this building before, but usually when it's winter and the trees and grass are not green and pretty.  There was a little re-construction going on, but I thought the view from this perspective was pretty nice.  The gazebo to the right of the building is pretty new, but it adds a little more interest to the scene.

209/365
Historic Cabin

In Albany, Texas, this cabin sits in a park for visitors to see.  There's information about it as well as a bulletin board announcing events that will be taking place.
The doors and windows were locked, so I don't know if there's any chance of getting inside at any point but the cabin is fun to look at anyway,

Damaged Box

Once a month I place an order with an online business called Melaleuca.  They sell healthy products:
shampoos, house cleaning items, weight loss items, snacks, etc.
This box was waiting for me yesterday at my door.  I've never received a damaged box from them before~~it was probably the delivery system.
Before I opened it I took a photo of it just in case any of the items inside were damaged, but they weren't thankfully.

This back door is in an alleyway in Eastland, TX.  Hard to tell if the building is abandoned by looking at it in the alleyway.

Building Cornerstone

This is an abandoned church building down one of the side streets in Anson.  The structure is boarded up and the belfry had no bell.  The grass badly needs to be cut.

Alleyway graphic

One of the alleyways in Anson has this beautiful & colorful graphic advertising the Museum.

202/365
Painting on a Coffee Shop wall

One of the coffee shops in Anson has this mural painted on the outside wall as an advertisement.
I was there late in the afternoon, so the shop wasn't open, sad to say.

201/365
Alleyway Scene

I was walking through some of the downtown alleyways in Anson, TX and came across this scene.
I think this is an abandoned building, but I like the painting of the vase in between the doorways.

200/365
Announcements

There's an art center in downtown Abilene and on one of the outside walls there are these announcements about coming events.  The photo club I attend once a month meets at this venue, and it's right across from my fav coffee shop, so I see the banners regularly.
The art center has rotating displays of artist's work inside throughout the year and it's always fun to see what's on display when I attend my meetings.

199/365
Flavors

While waiting for my fav coffee drink at the coffee shop, I decided to grab a pic of these flavors lined up against the far wall.
They all sound good, but I get the exact same drink every time I'm in the store...
a large blended Tuxedo with whipped cream.
Maybe someday I'll try something different, but for now, that's what I get.

198/365
Hobby Lobby

A while back JoAnn Fabric closed.  So sad.  So I've been buying my fabric at Hobby Lobby.  They have a great selection and I wait until they have their fabric sale in order to get the fabric when it doesn't cost so much.
Today I decided I need a Jelly Roll to complete a quilt I started.
They don't sell Jelly Rolls!!!
I went to Michael's.
They don't sell Jelly Rolls!!!!
Now I'll have to order one online or else go to a fabric store and pay an outrageous amount of money for one, which I won't do.
So disappointing.
I think you have to be rich in order to sew anything these days.

197/365
Abandoned House on Corner

This abandoned house is on a corner in a run down neighborhood in Abilene, TX.
The windows on one side are boarded up and there's a chain link fence surrounding the yard.  The other half of the building has an ac unit in the window, but the house is in disrepair and doesn't look like anyone is living in it.
The sky to the left looks like there's copy space.

196/365
Abandoned Warehouse

This corner of the building is just a piece of a long/large warehouse on the south side of Abilene, TX where there are other warehouses and other abandoned buildings. There's copy space on the white bricks and on the steps, while green vines grow cup the supports of the structure.

195/365
Ballet School

There's a ballet school in downtown Abilene, TX.  I've taken pics of each of the sides, but never of both of them at once.  I really like this image.
