Trap Club

I've seen gun ranges before, but never a range dedicated for trap shooting.  This place is open two times a week according to the sign but maybe the members get together other times as well.

The bottom line says "Home of the Midnight Sun Shoot" and that's not an exaggeration--it doesn't get dark during the early summer, so at midnight it's like daytime.

Defunct Electric Company Building

This is the defunct electric company building surrounded by chain link in Abilene, Texas. Right now, off to the right of the image is the new power grid.

Open Mailbox

Walking around Cisco, Texas I saw this open mailbox in front of an adorable house that's for sale.  No house number on the mailbox but a realtor sign in front of the house.

Wonder how long it will stay on the market???  I'm hearing that house sales around here have slowed down.

High School Ball Field

I was surprised to see the red picnic table in the middle of the two bleacher sections.  Seems like it would be in the way but maybe they move it when there's a game in play.

Chain Link and Blue Wall

I love shooting through chain link so when I saw this beautiful blue wall and the distinct shadow with chain link in the foreground, I figured it was a winning combination for me.

Sometimes just walking around being aware of the details along the way is the best way to find unexpected photo treasures.

Construction Site

This old school has been under renovation for quite a while.  I'm so glad they didn't just tear it down, it was probably a beautiful building in its day.  Wish I could have seen the inside of it before they began the remodel.

I don't know why, but I love shooting through chain link.

Gold Lock

I passed by a construction site this afternoon and saw this "gold" chain and lock on the gate.  I thought the gold chain and lock on the silver chain link looked really pretty.

Once Upon a Time...

Once upon a time this was someone's brand new car, possibly their dream car, most likely the car that transported them and their family around town and to favorite vacations spots.

Now it just sits, abandoned, alone, in disrepair, rusty and falling apart day by day.  There were others like this within this chain link enclosure. It makes me wonder why some retro car devotee hasn't managed to acquire it and restore it.  hmmmm

My heart is grateful for:

the sore muscle in my arm feeling better~~maybe it's on the mend and I can get back to the gym in a few days

Behind the Chain Link Fence

The yard of a downtown business surrounded by chain link fence.  Green rods run through the links, not blocking the view but maybe for added strength to the chain link?  And at the top of the fence~~barbed wire.  Seems like triple security.

Trio of Mops

I was headed to a meeting and I decided to wander around town for a few minutes before the meeting started.  

These mops were hanging on the chain link fence drying in the late afternoon sun.

Oxygen Tanks 

These oxygen tanks are behind a protective chain link fence.  There were hundreds of tanks of various sizes and colors stored at this business.

I've seen this place many times before but never thought about making an image of the tanks, and now that I finally did I wonder why I never did before.

An Ordinary Thing

A friend took me to the location of a defunct  power plant yesterday.  I couldn't get as near to it as I wanted because of the chain link fence surrounding it, and alas, there were no openings through which to crawl closer.

 I saw this fire hydrant and tried to make something interesting out of it.  Not sure "interesting" is the best word for it, but I like the matching colors of the hydrant, the grass and the building in the background, and as always, I love shooting through chain link.
