Abandoned Downtown Business

For as long as I've lived here, this place has looked exactly like this.  Abandoned and nothing has changed one bit.  I don't know what it was when it was an active business.
There is little-to-no foot traffic in this location, but once upon a time there must have been.
Very curious.

Off Road Cabin

On the way to Rule, Texas we saw this very, very abandoned cabin just off the main road.  There's probably not anything redeemable about this structure but it sure makes for a great photo.  We walked all around the cabin and there wasn't a bad perspective to be seen considering how decrepit the structure is.

Abandoned School Bldg?

This old abandoned building is in Stamford, Texas.  It looks like it was originally a school bldg, but there was no sign or information to say what it had been.
The interior was totally trashed and as you can see some of the windows were completely gone.
Just take several steps back in your mind to imagine what a beautiful building this once was.

House Number

The weather was really beautiful again today so by mid-afternoon I forced myself out to town again and challenged myself to find something to photograph.
It was a challenge for sure!!
I found a structure with this house number on the door and a peep-hole under it.
Not too exciting but I was desperate.

Abandoned home in very small town, West Texas.  Off to the right of the image, in what must have been a driveway at one time, was a car.  My friend said it wasn't too old, it had a license plate on the front bumper, but the registration had expired about 4 years ago.

Do people actually just walk out of a home, leave their car and never return?
I can't wrap my brain around that.

Two Planters

These planters are located outside a business in downtown Abilene, Texas.  I think they've seen better days and hopefully as spring approaches there will be new, living plants inside them both.  I love the look of the blue door and the terra cotta planter.

My heart is thankful for:
beautiful colors

Garage Door Mural

Driving through the little town of Buffalo Gap, Texas, I saw this garage door mural and in the background of the backyard was a table with brightly painted bird houses.  This place might be a small retreat house of some kind, but there was no signage and no people around to ask.

I'm grateful for:
art
