I've walked past this old coke machine about a bazillion times but have never thought about taking a photo of it.  Well, I'm desperate these days, so the lightbulb finally went on.  I only had my phone with me.  Can you remember the days when a bottle of coke was 10 cents?

One of the last times I went to Hawaii for the winter, I found this checkbook cover at a vendor booth at one of the fairgrounds.  I've been using it ever since.  It brings back fond memories and there are so many times I wish I were back there.

I guess that was a season of my life that will probably never be repeated.  It was good while it lasted.

I'm grateful for:
the many years I was able to be in Hawaii for the winter and not have to deal with upstate NY winter weather.

I received this rocking chair from my husband when our second child was born. That son is now 52.  I went on to rock and comfort 4 more children in that chair.
I made the quilt about 35 years ago when I knew practically nothing about quilting, but I belonged to a small group whose members were very helpful and I was pretty pleased with the way it turned out.

The Skate Key

Look what I found!

I've been looking for one of these for years and they're incredibly difficult to find.  I went into an amazing antique store in another town and he had, not one, not two, not three, but four of them.  I only needed one.

Royal Typewriter

I went to several antique stores this morning and saw a few different typewriters.  I really want one.  I almost purchased this one but then I remembered I don't have a single flat surface on which to put it where it can be seen as decor.  I'm working on it, but it still might be a while.  I also want a rotary dial phone...  Be patient, I keep telling myself.

Toothpicks

Years and years ago my parents went to Florida for vacation~~it was a huge thing for them to go so far away and they had a good time.
Mom brought back a couple of these toothpick holders and this is the one I chose.  It's still on my kitchen counter and I think of her often because of it.
She passed many years ago and there are still times when I think of something I'd like to share with her but then remember it's not possible.
Communicate with those you care about and love as much as possible while you have the chance.  If you don't, there will come a day when you'll long for those lost opportunities.

Classic Tractor

I tried to get inside the chain link fence, but no luck.  This was the best I could do with my cell phone.

Halfway on Route 66

On the way home from Santa Fe, we detoured to see this halfway spot on Route 66.
The memories it brings back as we remembered the show we watched faithfully with longing and wanderlust to be on the road...

Grateful for:
all the opportunities I've had to travel over the years

 Family Portrait Session

Yesterday I had the chance to do a portrait session with this fun family.

After making some images with their pets, we did a few with just the humans in the family.

I'm so glad I decided to do this session in the studio~~it was a great way to contain the pets and the kiddos.
