Corks Behind Glass

This random display of corks is part of the front door decor of an Italian Restaurant in downtown Abilene, Texas.  The glass is an insert in the wall and the corks fill the space behind the glass.

Random Blue on Blue

I was waiting for a friend at my favorite coffee shop.  The weather was gorgeous today, so I was sitting at a seat outside.  While waiting I decided to make a photo of the chair I was sitting in.  It's this random blue design that works as a great background for text or other images. 

Who knew a chair could be so creative.

It's pretty amazing what kind of images I can find when I'm desperate.

Branch Photo

I went to visit someone in a small senior living complex and this beautiful branch photo was hanging in one of the hallways.  I couldn't get a photo of it without the light reflecting in the upper left, but the framed image of bare branches is just lovely.

Kids Running Logo

I was walking around downtown Abilene yesterday in an area I don't usually walk in and I came across this sign for a Day Care Center. It's such a happy looking sign and I was able to photograph it without the words which were on the bottom of the sign.

It's been a very quiet day.  I went to church this morning, then home.  I read a little and am now watching TV as I write this blog.  It's 49 degrees right now (I should be outside doing something more constructive than just sitting in front of the TV-sigh) and it will be 72 by Sat. I'll have to figure out something interesting to do outside by the end of the week.

Brick Wall  background

Not a very exciting image, but I thought it would make a wonderful background for text or a photo of some sort.  It's a wall on the outside of a business downtown and it looks pretty deliberated.

Another background of colored disks

I posted another image of colored disks a couple of days ago, but the colors were green, red and pink.  I just think this makes such a peaceful and colorful image I couldn't resist posting this different color combination.

Colored Disks

There was an area in the local zoo that might have been intended for people to use as a background for their cell phone pics of their children.  I can't think of any other reason for this area.  

I just thought it was so pretty with the brightly colored disks.

If my grandkids had been with me today, I definitely would have taken their pics in front of this pretty background.

Yellow Ribbed Siding

I'm sure this isn't a very exciting image for most people but the other day as I was walking around town trying to find some new photo ops (in an area where I think I've photographed at least 30 times in the past couple of years), I came up with the idea to look for textures and shadows.  

This is ribbed siding on the side of a business and I guess the #8 is the address of the business.

It satisfies both texture and shadow so it's a win/win.  

I put my full-res images on a couple of photo sales sites, so I'm actually pretty excited about this image since it would make a great background.  

What can I give thanks for today?

A safe dry place to live in which I feel comforted and peaceful.

She's At It Again

Okay, so yesterday I posted to fb something like:  this morning my cat spilled her entire water dish on the kitchen floor and a few hours later she threw up in the living room (incidents not related to each other).  Then later in the day the dog threw up on the couch. (true story, believe me)  I thought animals were supposed to lower a person's blood pressure!

Anyway, I was out of the house since early this morning.  I arrived home around 2 and as I was sitting on the couch working on the computer and half-heartedly watching tv, I thought I heard a suspicious noise coming from the kitchen.  Not wanting to stop what I was doing, I ignored it.  hmmmph

When I finally did get up and go into the kitchen, this was the sight that greeted me.  "Oh no, she's at it again" I thought.  What the heck is going on with her?  You see where the water dish is???  right smack in the middle of the kitchen floor--you can't really see all the water that's scattered around though.

See the little bench in the background?  THAT's where the water dish should be!

And here's the little culprit.  Normally she's sweet, lovable and well-behaved.  If I didn't know better I'd say she was in love.  But she's an indoor cat...  Hopefully she'll get over this proclivity pretty soon.
