Two Figurines

I went to Albany, Texas today and my friend and I went into the museum.  There was a room with Asian artifacts and I thought these figures were interesting.
Surprisingly they said I could take pics as long as I didn't use flash. Great!!
I made several images and I'll scatter them through the coming days.

Two Pumpkins

The local zoo sets up a hay maze every fall and within the maze there are many smaller areas of decorations.  I just thought this was really sweet.  Not a word class winner, but I like the simplicity of the pumpkins on the hay bales

Two Round Windows

A building downtown has several of these round windows with blinds instead of the typical square or rectangular windows normally seen.  I'd love to see them from the inside looking out.

Chess Players

The minute I walked into my fave coffee shop I saw these two guys playing chess. While I was waiting for my drink to be ready I asked them if I could take a pic of them and they readily agreed.
I've never seen them there before but I don't usually go there in the early evening.

I'm grateful for:
seeing friends enjoying each other's company while doing something together that they enjoy

Less is More

I love images like this.  These red doors with black handles were too irresistible to pass by.  There are times when it's definitely true that "less is more".

My heart is grateful that:
I took a new route through town today and found this scene

Bicycle Boutique

Biking seems to be a favorite pastime in small seaside towns in Florida.
I've never seen a bike rental shop like this one.  So cute.

My heart is grateful for:
the amazing smell of fresh mown grass

Painted Oranges

Dunedin, FL is know for it's orange crop, in addition to other crops.  Artist Steve Spathelf decided it would bolster the self-respect of the town if there were oranges painted throughout the small sea-side community.  His work has become so popular there's now a waiting list for his artwork on businesses and personal homes.

It's fun walking around the town seeing how many oranges you can see.  What a happy idea.

My heart is grateful for:
the beautiful sunset we saw last night at the pier
