Baby Portrait

Today's half of the Maternity/Baby Portrait workshop we had a 10-day-old newborn and the family.
The students had the chance to photograph the infant.
What a precious baby and what a great keepsake this will be for the family.

Farmer's Market

Every Wed evening and Sat morning throughout the summer, there's a Farmer's Market.  These are some random people walking around.  It was a beautiful day. We spent about an hour checking out all the booths.
There were some photographers there selling their images.  Some were beautiful, some were average. I often wonder how much stock the sellers much have to do the Farmer's Market circuit~~and where do they store it all after the season?

My heart is grateful that:
my grand baby had a good report from his visit with the midwife

As Per Suggested
84/365

I'm a big fan of cropping out distracting elements in my images.  I do it in-camera as much as possible. If not possible, I don't mind cropping a little post-production.  I also enjoy the "square" format you can often edit if you take the photo properly.

Yesterday I posted two images of some lilies that I have in my mini-garden.  Neither of those two above concepts occurred to me.  Duh!!  Sometimes I just let myself get into a mental rut and then I wonder why my images are so boring and ordinary.

A friend commented on the post and suggested I crop this image into a square.  Another duh!!!
So....as per suggested, here it is.

So much better.  Thanks, Jeff.

Signs

Today's mini-assignment was 'signs'. This first image is a sign pointing to my favorite town on the North Shore.

This image is 'just because'. Just because I liked the cloud formation.

Remember back in January I posted a sunset image and said that you should take note of where the sun was setting compared to the small mountain in the background? Well, this is either the same image or one that I took at the same time. See where the sun was setting?

Now take a look at the next image and see where the sun is setting in relation to that same land mass. Pretty cool, huh? Quite a large difference in just two months. So stretching today's theme, I guess this is a sign that in spite of what's going on in the world of men, the earth still moves in its pre-designed rotation according to God's plan for it. Hopefully we can all be comforted by the fact that the Creator is still in His heaven, and spring is on the way!
