This abandoned garage is located in a small town in west Texas.

Words on a Wall

This is a sign inside one of the downtown parking garages.  The entire message is "Parking.  Violators will be Towed"
The garage was partially remodeled a couple of years ago but some of the walls were left like this.

Abandoned? garage

Walked down a street I haven't been on before while waiting for the grandkid's lesson to begin.
This was a garage once upon a time.
It probably contains random forgotten items now.

Volkswagen

This car has been on top of this building all the years I've been in Abilene.  I'm not sure what the point of it is, unless it's to indicate there's a garage available.  It's cute, but it's difficult to get a good photo of it because there's a tall sign and a tree in front of it.

My heart is grateful that:
I finally got my laptop back from the "hospital" and the repair didn't cost much!

Permit Parking Only

One of the covered garages in downtown Abilene, TX has this Permit Parking Only sign at the entrance. It's probably for the people who live in the apartment building right next to it, or for others who are willing to pay for a space.  A covered parking garage is definitely a pleasure during out brutally hot and sunny summer days.

No Entrance

I've seen this garage door before, but never stopped to take a photo of it.  It's been like this for a very long time.  Wonder what's inside?

Garage Door Mural

Driving through the little town of Buffalo Gap, Texas, I saw this garage door mural and in the background of the backyard was a table with brightly painted bird houses.  This place might be a small retreat house of some kind, but there was no signage and no people around to ask.

I'm grateful for:
art

A Second Look at the 64 GTO

This is the same GTO as shown several posts ago, but the lights are off and the hood is down.  Even though you can't see the entire body, anyone who knows cars will be able to recognize it and will know the year. I tried looking at this in color but I love the bw version so much better.

Others in my group posted theirs in color and the images are great.  I just prefer the bw version.

My heart is grateful for:
simple things like having a burger for dinner

Abandoned Gas Station

I pass this abandoned gas station every time I go to my daughter's house and every time I slow down to look at it.  This is a typical structure for old gas stations in the area, but for some reason this one seems to call my name every time I pass it.

My heart is grateful for:
the sound of thunder and the hope of some rain

A Man in His Man Cave

A very cooperative friend helped me out with this image.  It's not exactly what I had in mind in terms of the edit, but I love the pose.

1964 GTO

One of the people in my photo group organized this retro car shoot tonight.  It was really fun~~great to photograph something out of the ordinary under great circumstances for a change.

My heart is grateful for:
a quick dinner after the session with an old friend and a new one
