Painted Fire hydrant

A red and green painted fire hydrant in downtown Abilene.
There are green paint drops on the sidewalk from when the hydrant was being painted.

Abandoned Building

The topic for my next photo club meeting is "abandoned".  I saw this structure and was intrigued with the beautiful mural on the side, while the business itself has been closed and abandoned for years.

I'm grateful for:
artists and their beautiful work

Dalmation and Fire Hydrant

I saw this while walking through a residential area in Dunedin, Florida where a few of the homes were decked out in funky artistic styles.
I just thought this was cute.

I wouldn't want it in front of my house, but to each their own, and it definitely makes a statement about the people living in that house.  Good for them!

My heart is grateful today for:
finally learning that it's not possible to be discouraged/depressed when feeling grateful

An Ordinary Thing

A friend took me to the location of a defunct  power plant yesterday.  I couldn't get as near to it as I wanted because of the chain link fence surrounding it, and alas, there were no openings through which to crawl closer.

I saw this fire hydrant and tried to make something interesting out of it.  Not sure "interesting" is the best word for it, but I like the matching colors of the hydrant, the grass and the building in the background, and as always, I love shooting through chain link.
