Taylor Electric Pens

One of the electric companies in this area is Taylor Electric.  They had their yearly customer appreciation event today and one of my photographer friends had the contract to photograph the event.  He called me to help him.
These pens were on one of the tables where the cars were driving through to get their gifts from the company.  I don't know if they write in different color ink, but I thought they looked cool lying on the table like this.

Retro Typewriter

When I was in high school I took a steno/typing class.  Even though I was tracking to go to college, I decided to fill in my empty spots with these courses.  I LOVED typing and my parents gave me my first typewriter for Christmas.  It wasn't this one, but I've loved these machines ever since.
After I relocated to Texas I spent some years looking in the antique shops to see if I could find a typewriter for a decent price and in decent condition.  About a year ago I came across this one.
It was $19.95 and it had a carrying case with it.
I couldn't resist, so I bought it.  I need to get a new ribbon for it, otherwise it's in perfect condition.

I didn't do much today.  Played pickle-ball all morning, then to the grocery store~~I still can't believe the price of groceries!!!
Then home where I haven't done one constructive thing all day.  Oh well.

Three photos down, 362 to go.
I feel like Julie in "Julia and Julie" when Julie decided to work her way through the Julia Childs cookbook, blogging about how she's doing.
I need to find a list of photo subjects to keep me going.

Have a great weekend!

Books

I've loved to read since I was old enough to read.  Seems like I always have more than one book going, but lately I've been holding back.  I belong to a bookgroup and we read one book a month.
Sometimes I start another one.  But right now I have three that I'm interested in reading.

The top one, "The Dictionary of Lost Words" is the bookgroup read.

"The Defiant Brides" is historical and I'm struggling to get into it, but I'll persevere a little longer and see how it goes.  It was a birthday gift from a casual friend so I think I need to make an honest effort to read it.

The bottom one, "Perceptions of a Renegade Mind" is one I read before.  It was amazing.
I think David Icke is my new favorite author.

"Waymaker" by Ann Voskamp

I belong to a bookgroup that meets monthly.  We take turns choosing the books.  This is the choice for January picked by another member. I borrowed this copy.

I've read many books that have been super-well-written and fun to read, but I have to say that I don't think I've read one where the writing has been This Compelling, nor the subject matter so Humbling.

It's a brand new book, copyright 2022.  If it wasn't so expensive I'd buy multiple copies and give one to everyone I know.  In lieu of that, I'll just recommend it.
