Palace Theater

Abandoned Palace Theater in small town Texas.  The marquee is still there, but the theater remains empty although ticket booth is still in front of the theater on the street as a reminder that once upon a time, it was an active venue.

Palace Theater in Anson

It was another beautiful fall day, a little cool but not too bad, with a gorgeous blue sky.
I took a ride to Anson~~I've been there before, but I needed to get out of the house and there's a stunning City Hall right in the middle of Main Street that seemed to be calling my name today.

This theater is kitty-corner from the City Hall.  I don't know if it's used for anything any more, I always seem to go to Anson on a Sunday afternoon. Almost everything is closed so there's no telling if it gets used for anything. The theater must have been glorious in its day.

The Paramount Theater

This is a beautiful historic theater in downtown Abilene, Texas.  While I was walking around downtown this morning, I approached it from a different angle that I usually do and this is what I saw.
It was cloudy this morning, so the colors are rich looking and beautiful.
The Paramount has shows of all kinds and often shows old movies which, I think, are very well attended.

I'm thankful for:
folks who work hard to preserve our rich history

Cowboy Church Sign

There are Cowboy Churches all over West Texas.  I was driving to a photo op location with a friend when I saw this sign for the church and stopped to take a photo of it.

Grateful today for:
having no appointments or deadlines today
