Small White House

While waiting for the train to move off the railroad crossing I photographed this little White House.  A very plain structure, but everything is very green due to all the rain we've had recently.  When I walked around to the front of the house, it was even more plain so I'm glad I got this image.

My heart is grateful that:
at least for a little while this spring, the grass and bushes are green and we've had much needed rain

Hotel in Safety Harbor, FL

When I visited a friend in FL, we drove to this town.  I think this is such a neat looking building.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S

A new year, a new photo-a-day challenge.  I fell 6 images short of the challenge in 2023.
2024 is leap year, so an extra image will be needed.
I don't know why I find this challenge so difficult, but I'm giving it another go this year.

There's an abandoned zoo in Cisco, Texas.  It opened in 1923 and closed in the 1930s due to the unsolved mystery of the poisoning of a bear and the equally mysterious unsolved death of a deer.
Today the grounds provide hiking trails that wind past the old animal enclosures as well as cabins that were available to the zoo visitors.

Hearts and Locks

Seen in Dunedin, Florida along one of the public walkways.  Many of the locks have sentiments of love inscribed on them.  This is one of the iconic tourist destinations in Dunedin.

My heart is grateful for:
having so many photo opportunities today

Mesquite Trees

After a morning at the Y for an exercise class and a visit with some friends, then a
short  time at home,
I met another friend at our favorite coffee shop and indulged in my favorite blended drink and some
good conversation.

I decided to try a nature image today.  But this is, after all, west Texas~~not much is blooming right now.  As you can see, the sky was a beautiful blue and the temps were in the low 80s, but no leaves on the trees. I LOVE the shapes of these tree trunks...
