Decorated Coffee Cups

While waiting an inordinately long time to place my coffee order at the coffee shop today, I decided to make another image of these decorated cups on the other side of the counter.  I asked the barista who decorated them and she said that various customers did them over a number of years.
What a great way to decorate one of the walls in the shop.

Colored Disks

There was an area in the local zoo that might have been intended for people to use as a background for their cell phone pics of their children.  I can't think of any other reason for this area.
I just thought it was so pretty with the brightly colored disks.
If my grandkids had been with me today, I definitely would have taken their pics in front of this pretty background.

I'm grateful for:
beautiful colors that decorate our world

POW!  WOW!
3/365

"Centered around a week-long event in Hawaii, POW! WOW! has grown into a global network of artists and organizes gallery shows, lecture series, schools for art and music, mural projects, a large creative space named Lana Lane Studios, concerts, and live art installation across the globe.  The central event takes place during Valentine's Day week in February in the Kaka'ako district of Honolulu, and brings over a hundred international and local artists together to create murals and other forms of art." (copied from the website)

Today I took a walk around downtown to find some of these artists.  It was a very cool experience.  Most of them began painting on Monday, and since it is only Wednesday, they were only part-way through their projects.  It was interesting to see how they were creating works of this size.  Many of them were using pictures on their phones as reference.

Catching Up From Sunday

Well, I'm still dealing with internet access issues, and I wasn't able to get online last night. So here are some photos from Sunday, Feb. 8. I'll make another post for today, later today.

There's a girl in my church who is fairly artistic, and you'll often see her drawing these beautiful patterns in her notebook. I'm in awe of the designs she creates and her dedication considering how much detail there is in each one. These are two of the many she's created. Click on each photo to enlarge and see the great details.

And just a couple of images of two of the cuties at church. These are mostly for Leah.
