Reflection in Window Glass

One of the older buildings in downtown Abilene has a series of round windows instead of rectangular windows.  As I was looking for some photo ops today I noticed this reflection so I grabbed a shot of it.  The mural itself is really nice.  Too bad there was a vehicle there.

Downtown Mural

Another beautiful day weather-wise.  I've seen and photographed this mural several times, but it's so beautiful I couldn't resist getting another image of it.

Quilting Mural

This is a section of a beautiful mural seen on the side of a building in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska.  Once upon a time the building contained That Old Sew & Sew, a fabric/quilt shop, but it has been closed for a couple of years.
The mural was created by Zoe Rabjohns who currently lives in Fairbanks and owns the
Hello Sunshine Tattoo Parlor.
She can be found online if you'd be interested in seeing more of her work.

This is another mural that's on the outside wall of a downtown business.  I love the colors and the sentiment is so true.  We are exactly where we're supposed to be according to God's plan for our lives.

My heart is grateful that:
God knows what's best for me better than I do

Bison Mural

One of the gift shop businesses downtown has this beautiful Bison Mural the side of its building.  It's on black window panels of some sort.

My heart is grateful for:
beautiful artwork

Coca-Cola

In a town where there are a lot of empty/abandoned buildings, this wall mural is amazingly well kept. I remember when a coke was almost this price.

When I would get sick as a child, sometimes my mother would go to the drug store and buy coke syrup over the counter.  I've heard there really was "coke" in the syrup.  I always got better and with  no side effects.

My heart is grateful today:
that I visited and had dinner with my daughter, her husband and the grandkids

Abandoned Building

The topic for my next photo club meeting is "abandoned".  I saw this structure and was intrigued with the beautiful mural on the side, while the business itself has been closed and abandoned for years.

I'm grateful for:
artists and their beautiful work

Garage Door Mural

Driving through the little town of Buffalo Gap, Texas, I saw this garage door mural and in the background of the backyard was a table with brightly painted bird houses.  This place might be a small retreat house of some kind, but there was no signage and no people around to ask.

I'm grateful for:
art

A wall mural with a great sentiment on the outside of an eatery.

Wall Mural

The friend I'm visiting has a room she uses for her creative endeavors, her studio.  She wanted to decorate one of the walls but couldn't find anything she liked, so she drew her own beautiful design and then used a paint-pen to finish it.

Oh that we lived near each other and she could decorate my home....

My heart is grateful today for:
the down-time I've enjoyed for a while before we head out for our daily excursion
