Ft. Ticonderoga

Saturday morning began very early. Scott and I were still debating whether we should make the trip to Ft. Ti. The weather report was for scattered thunder storms, with hot and humid conditions. Not my favorite kind of weather! But since we were already up, we decided to go. It was about a two hour drive up the Northway. By the time we got there around 10 a.m. it was already pretty crowded, but we were able to park fairly close to the action.

Scott wasn't taking photos, so while he browsed around the vendors (sutlers) I wandered around looking for photo ops. Not too difficult to find at a reenactment, there's one just about every six inches.

The reenactment of the battle began at 2 p.m. It was supposed to last for about 1 1/2 hours. Around 2:30 it began to drizzle, but the action continued. The rain also continued and by 2:40 it was coming down pretty well. I didn't mind for myself, but I had my camera and didn't have a bag or umbrella, so Scott and I decided to head back to the car since it didn't look like it was going to clear up any time in the near future.
