Sorry about that. Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! Hopefully they'll lose interest soon and you can put things back the old way. I'm shocked that you still have spam even with the word verification below. It must be actual people spamming you, not computer programs.
Are they commenting anonymously? You can remove that function too, you know.
