Maine 2008

So we finally arrived in S. Bristol, Maine yesterday. We spent what seems like an awfully long time in the car yesterday. Scott and I were in one car and Jean and Cindy were in another. We followed each other the whole way up, so whenever we stopped we had the chance to chat.

This morning Dale and I walked down to the cove. This series is from that little excursion. The sun was up already, and considering we felt the tale end of hurricane Hannah late Sat. afternoon and all night, it was a very nice morning.

There's a small restaurant at the cove. This is the window of that restaurant. The name is Osier's.

In the afternoon, Cindy, Jean and I went to Pimaquid Lighthouse. It's a beautiful spot and a favorite of Jean's. She and her husband used to vacation there every year, so it's a bittersweet place for her. We spent several hours there, just sitting and watching the waves, which were pretty intense--probably due to Hannah.
